The Board for Plant Varieties will increase its fees by 6.5% on January 1, 2025

Your applications for listing and/or plant breeders’ rights in the Netherlands for marrow (courgette) bush types can be submitted to the Board for Plant Varieties until April 1st. The DUS identity material can be sent in until April 15th. This better matches the preparation of the trial at Naktuinbouw.

Every year, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature sets the fees of the Board for plant varieties for the following year. These fee proposals are made by Naktuinbouw and the Board for plant varieties jointly. The attached notice deals with the proposed application fees for plant breeders' rights and admission and DUS-testing for 2025.

Your applications for Dutch plant variety rights for the crop Alstroemeria can be submitted until July 1.

This better matches the submission period for the identity material, which runs from October 1 to 31.

On 17 September the Board for plant varieties sent the letters to the maintainers of varieties eligible for prolongation.

Varieties that are edible and that are traded or sold as pot vegetables or ornamental products should be registered (admitted) as vegetables in the EU common catalogue.
